Soul Food with Chef Brandon Walker

As part of our Black History Month celebrations, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Hudson Valley Farm Hub and Chef Brandon Walker of Essie’s restaurant. Chef Walker is a celebrated local chef who has gained national attention competing on Chopped and having been featured in Toques in Black: A Celebration of Black Chefs. He and his wife own and run Essie’s in Poughkeepsie’s Little Italy, offering elegant, yet casual dining and a menu that incorporates local ingredients and international flavors. In this video, Chef Walker shows us how he blends old and new stories into soul food in the Hudson Valley. Thanks so much to for their help on this project!
