Bridging Academia & Advocacy: Hudson Valley Immigration & Leadership Summit

Introduction and Keynote with Maria Christina Martinez and Youth Arts Group Members. Current State of the Law presentation by Robert Horne. This event will highlight two panels: legal perspectives on supporting undocumented communities, and mobilizing from the ground - direct service work with undocumented communities. Community organizations will also feature their own work during a tabling fair, with catering by La Cabañita.

Town of Poughkeepsie Community Cleanup

Meet at the garden space next to Crafted Cup at 2pm. Join local representatives and Vassar’s Office of Sustainability in this cleanup, part of a larger initiative organized by the Town of Poughkeepsie's Conservation Advisory Commission for Earth month. Gloves, vests, garbage bags and pickup tools will be provided! Trash will be picked up on Raymond Ave, Davis, Lagrange, Collegeview, possibly Haight and a section of Main Street.

Featuring voices from elected officials, housing developers, and community advocates, this conversation will shed light on the historical roots of redlining, its impact, and people-first solutions for a more equitable and inclusive city. The program will be followed by a Midweek Mixer to continue the conversation in a more informal setting.
