Spring 2022 Teach-Ins

This Spring, CAS members spearheaded teach-ins at Poughkeepsie High School to introduce students to the hidden histories of enslaved Africans and their descendants. We are encouraging students to become involved with CAS and make a change! We thank the terrific social studies teacher Shanna Andrawis for helping shepherd us to all the Participation in Government and Economics classes, hitting the entire PHS senior class! We also thank teachers Nathan Lawrence-Paine, Jason Petagine, and Michael Chipak, as well as Shanna, for allowing us to spend time in their classrooms.

Together we have visited 12 different classes twice.
